In order to determine the feasibility of two main ventilation schemes of general natural ventilation and natural air supply plus mechanical exhaust ventilation in summer for the main building of a power plant in cold zone, numerically simulates the air distribution of the main building. The results show that the bottom and interlayer parts have a high temperature area exceeding 34.5 ℃ when adopting the general natural ventilation scheme in summer, which cannot adequately meet the requirements of the relevant regulations. When adopting the mechanical exhaust scheme, the area of temperature rise exceeding 3 ℃ significantly shrinks in the plant and the distribution of air flow velocity is more reasonable. However, in the two ventilation schemes, there is a small high temperature area near the condenser and low flow rate in a certain local area. Therefore, optimizes the system by adopting ventilation grille and thermal insulation measures, which shows a remarkable temperature reduction.
